Village October 2022 Minutes

October 12, 2022

Present:  Maksimchuk’s, Olk, Birchmeier, Seamon, Gauthier, Besaw

Absent: Ustishen

Meeting called to order by Mayor John Maksimchuk with the Pledge of Allegiance, Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to accept the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Olk, support by Seamon to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Public Comments

DPW barn is re-sided and awaiting new garage doors.  The Village Council appreciates the funding of the DPW building remodel from the DDA.

Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file.

Police Chief Bierlein thanked the DPW crew for the maintenance and all the work they have done on the shooting range.

Motion by Besaw, support by Seamon, to make the necessary repairs to the green truck/salt spreader and plow, at a cost estimate of $1,650.00, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to adopt Ordinance #126 to amend the Village of New Lothrop Downtown Development Authority Plan and Tax Increment Financing Plan with the Amendment sent to council by Doug Pigott, discusssion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to allow Fireworks at the Holly Jolly Eve event on December 2, 2022, discussion, motion carried.

Tabled resolution for safe routes to school program.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Besaw to close Cherry street to Saginaw street and Orchard street from Genesee to Butternut street, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier, to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
