Village October 2017 Minutes

October 11, 2017

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Seamon, L. Olk, P. Olk, Wolford, Gauthier, Tate,
Absent: Burns

Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem, John Maksimchuk at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by P. Olk, support by L. Olk to accept the minutes, motion carried.

Motion by P. Olk, support by Gauthier to amend and accept the Special Meeting Minutes to include a January 1, 2018 date for sewer increase, motion carried. Motion by Seamon, support by p. Olk, to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Public Comments – Dave Schnell, President of the NLDDA was present to announce the 4 th annual Pumpkin roll on November 5 th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Buddy Miller.

Pete Stewart and Stan Birchmeier were present to discuss the required 8’’ of cement over driveways instead of the State standard of 6” and also the inspections of the driveways. Will contact our Zoning Administrator for his opinion.

Police, DPW and Zoning reports are on file.

Motion by Wolford, support by L. Olk to accept Ordinance #118 to assume Responsibility for Administration and Enforcement of the State Construction Code, Roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Wolford, support by P. Olk, to refund the Blue Cross Rebate to the employee, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Discussed Fire Hydrant damage from 2015 and Village Attorney is not optimistic in recovering the cost of damages from Insurance company due
to lack of evidence. Consensus of Village Council was to drop the issue.

Motion by P. Olk, support by J. Maksimchuk to change the water billing policy for the water department to collect $30 each month for the Ready To Serve Fee instead of the 2 months of $45 for the Ready To Serve Fee effective January 1, 2018, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by P. Olk, support by Gauthier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
