Village June 2018 Minutes

June 13, 2018

Present: Maksimchuk’s, L. Olk, P. Olk, Seamon, Gauthier,
Burns Absent: Wolford

Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Seamon to accept the minutes, motion carried.

Motion by L. Olk support by Maksimchuk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Public Comments: Resident Bill Swain recognized Jerry Burns and all his efforts and loyalty to the Village of New Lothrop.

Shelley Ochodnicky, candidate of District 3, County Commissioner introduced herself to council members.

Motion by P. Olk, support by Gauthier to allow Water Shed Creek permission to extend their restaurant to include a sidewalk café on Village sidewalk serving food and alcohol in fenced in area, discussion, approval has been granted from the Health Department and Liquor Control Commission, Police Department consensus was no problem with café. Council would like approval from our Zoning Administrator. Roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by L. Olk to regretfully accept Jane DeVille’s resignation as Police Department Secretary, motion carried.

Police Chief, Police Commissioner and Village Attorney will meet with School Superintendent in regards to renewal of contract addition.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by L.Olk to accept the Special Meeting minutes, motion carried.

Motion by P. Olk, support by L. Olk, to amend the Water budget $3,210.50 in Repairs and Maintenance, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by P. Olk, support by Maksimchuk to hire Aleya Olk as meter reader at $200 per quarterly meter reading, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Burns, support by L. Olk to pay the Water Commissioner and Treasurer $10 per hour for extra water/sewer billing issues, roll call vote, P. Olk, abstain, rest yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Burns, support by Gauthier to appoint a committee to review water and sewer overage rates, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Committee members are Maksimchuk, Olk, and Tate.

Motion by P. Olk, support by Gauthier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
