Village July 2015 Minutes

Present: Seamon, Burns, Beauchamp, Poletti, Tate, Olk, Gauthier

Absent: Maksimchuk

Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Seamon to accept the minutes with the amendment change to include that we tabled putting the dump truck up for sale, support by Olk, motion carried. Motion by Seamon, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Gauthier, support by Beauchamp to have Andy Wolford fill the vacancy left by long time trustee, George Thiel, motion carried. Motion by Burns, support by Gauthier to appoint Laura Olk to the DDA board, motion carried.
Motion by Burns, support by Olk to shut the streets down from 7:00 a.m. until Police Chief’s discretion for the DDA car show, motion carried.

Police, DPW & Zoning reports are on file.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to hire Mary Dowell as Police Clerk at $11 per hour, roll call vote 1 no vote, Seamon, rest yeas, motion carried. Discussed code enforcement, no decision made. Police Chief Allen recognized office George Schmitt who recently retired.

Motion by Olk, support by Beauchamp to award the bid for the Unimog to Bill Wendling for $13,600, discussion, Trustee Seamon questioned whether the Village has use for Unimog, DPW department does not feel it meets OSHA standards and does not feel we have a use for the equipment , Roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Dump Truck will go out for bids in August and bids to be opened at September meeting.

Motion by Gauthier, support by Olk to hire Andrew Hobson as a part-time DPW employee, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Seamon, support by Beauchamp to put a plaque on the bridge on the New Lothrop road bridge as a tribute to long time council member, George Thiel, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Discussion in regards to second Consumer bill for street lighting.

Attorney will look into updating our Ordinance in regards to Solicitors and permits for door to door sales.

Motion by Olk, support by Beauchamp to pay all the bills including the telephone & consumers, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
