Village February 2016 Minutes

February 10, 2016

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Olk, Burns, Seamon, Gauthier, Beauchamp, Seamon, Tate
Absent: Wolford

Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Gauthier to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s Report, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Bob Hobson, Assistant Fire Chief was present to discuss the 911 proposal that will be on the March 8th ballot.

Our Regular Council meeting closed at 7:11 and the Zoning Board of Appeals opened the Public Hearing for A Variance for Marilyn Thiel, 7383 New Lothrop Road. The Variance requested is to allow a parcel of property to be split less than the 5 acres required (see posting) The Public Hearing closed at 7:26 p.m. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to grant the Variance to Marilyn Thiel, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Regular Village Council Meeting reconvenes at 7:37 and opened the public hearing for Truth In Taxation, no public comments, Closed Public Hearing at 7:38 p.m. Opened the Public Hearing for the budgets at 7:42 and no public comments, closed Public Hearing at 7:43. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to have the operating mills remain at 11, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Seamon to accept the proposed budgets for the 2016-2017 budget year, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Maksimchuk to approve the amendments to the 2015-2016 budgets as recommended by the Village CPA, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Police and DPW Reports on file.

Motion by Olk, support by Gauthier to adopt the Traffic Control Order #16-001, pertaining to “Unimproved Alleys”, roll call vote, 1 no vote, Seamon, rest yeas, motion carried.

Discussed DPW personnel and proclaimed that Tim Rushton is a great asset to the Village and appreciated for all he does.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Seamon to set a public hearing at our next council meeting for a Variance, motion carried.

Discussed the Clock on main street and possibly the DDA will look into getting it repaired.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk jto re-assign the Blazer to the Thetford Township, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Declared meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
