Village August 2020 Minutes

August 12, 2020

Present:  Maksimchuk’s, Tate, Seamon, S. Birchmeier, Gauthier, Olk, Besaw, Ustishen

Meeting called to order by Mayor John Maksimchuk at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Seamon, support by Besaw to accept the minutes, motion carried.   Motion by Ustishen, support by Besaw to accept the Treasurer’s Report, motion carried.

Police, Zoning, and DPW reports are on file.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to allow Dunklee property at 9422 Genesee Street to replace the blacktop to grass between the edge of road and sidewalk from his driveway east to the property line, discussion, with final approval by DPW, motion carried.

Discussed Bernie Andres flooding problem due to a tile problem.

Motion by J. Maksimchuk, support by Ustishen to appoint Diane Lahmann to replace Rob Ballard on DDA board., motion carried.

Discussed Nazarene Church using meeting room as an additional space for them, due to public meeting room and Village personnel going in and out, consensus of council was that they divide their current room.

Treasurer Terry Tate explained the progress of refinancing of the water treatment plant.  We currently are paying 4 and half % interest and the new bond will be at 3% interest.  We will be saving $78,000 and bond will mature early by two years.

Motion by Seamon, support J. Maksimchuk to amend the street budget to include line item computers for $1,000 and telephone for $500, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

August Meadow road resurfacing project will begin on or close to  August 24th.  Letters will be sent to homeowners in August Meadows on August 17th.  A second letter will be hand delivered just before they seal the road.

Downtown will get a slurry seal on Main Street, lines will also be painted.

New used Police car is here, equipment is being installed.

Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried
