Village August 2016 Minutes

August 10, 2016

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Seamon, Olk, Wolford, Beauchamp, Tate, Gauthier, Burns

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Jerry Burns.

Motion by Gauthier, support by Olk to accept the Regular Meeting Minutes, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Special Meeting Minutes, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, Roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Adam Johnson was present to discuss lots he owns by the Funeral Home.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to have the Police Chief proceed with plans to check into installation of Central Air Conditioning in the Police Department and a Generator with cost estimates of $2,800 for the Central air and $6,000 for the Generator. Police Chief will check with accountant for left over funds from sale of vehicles/equipment. Olk withdrew his support, and Beauchamp withdrew his motion. Consensus of Council is to obtain 3 bids and bring it back to council next month.

Police and DPW Reports on file.

Discussed Zoning Administrator and Enforcement of Zoning. Will advertise for the position.

Mayor Burns discussed Blight Ordinance #107. Motion by Burns, support by Olk to amend Ordinance #107 to include agricultural along with residential and commercial. Roll call vote, Olk yes, Beauchamp yes, Wolford No, Maksimchuk no, Gauthier no, Seamon no, Burns yes, motion failed.

Motion by Wolford, support by Maksimchuk to hire Adam Johnson as the listing Real Estate Agent for our vacant Lots in August Meadows, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Burns, support by Wolford to lower the Village owned lots in the August Meadow subdivision to $10,000.00 each, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Wolford, support by Gauthier to give Adam Johnson a 6 month contract to sell the Village lots, all offers will come before the Village Council, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Adam Johnson also inquired about a well for irrigation purposes for the baseball fields, tabled until next month.

Council Member Pat Olk will contact Verizon about possible placement of a tower on our water tower.

Council discussed ideas for old Confer Store and goals after demolishment. Consensus was to turn the lot into a park with a pavilion and picnic tables.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
