Village August 2015 Minutes

August 12, 2015

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Gauthier, Olk, Burns, Beauchamp, Tate
Absent: Seamon

Meeting called to order by Mayor Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to accept the minutes with the following amendment to include Andy Hobson will be hired at $15.00 per hour with a maximum of 20 hours per week, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s Report, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Police & DPW reports on file.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Beauchamp to approve Ordinance #115 for Malicious Mischief, roll call vote, all yeahs, motion carried.

Plaques will be placed on the Saginaw Street Bridge in Honor of Long time Council Member George Thiel. Dedication of bridge and placing of plaques will be determined.

Discussed Zoning and follow up letters. Mayor Burns will get with Rob Kehoe for more information.

The dump truck will be advertised for bids to be opened at September 9th meeting. The Blazer was tabled.

Solicitor Permits was discussed and Attorney will look at other guidelines and get back with Council.

Motion by Burns, support by Olk to pay the Glaser/Dawes bill which incurred during a personal injury accident and we will bill the Insurance company, (bill not to exceed $8,000) roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

DPW hours clarified.

Councilmember Maksimchuk explained progress on SAW grant.

Councilmember Beauchamp thanked the DPW department for the recent cleanup from the vandalism.

Discussed daytime police hours.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to pay all the bills including the telephone and consumers, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
