September Village 2025 Minutes
September 10, 2025
Present: Maksimchuk’s, Ustishen, Birchmeier, Olk, Gauthier
Wolford, Absent: Besaw
Meeting called to order by President Andy Wolford at 7:00 p.m, with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Ustishen, support by Birchmeier, to accept the minutes, motion passed. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.
Public Comments, Chuck Yaklin asked about an update on address’s on Saginaw Street and New Lothrop Road mixed. Clerk is trying to set up meeting with Township Treasurer, Assessor and our Village Treasurer. Genesee and Easton Road address’s also need fixing.
Cindy Kinsey has agreed to do the Holly Jolly Eve again this year but need volunteers to help.
Township Supervisor, Joe Vince was present to ask Council to work with our Street Commissioner on future road projects that we could tie in together. Consensus was yes we would be glad to work together.
Police, DPW and Zoning reports are on file.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to renew our SEDP renewal at a cost of $1,000.00, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
DDA Treasurer, Kayla McCormick is resigning effective October 1st, will advertise for the vacancy.
Motion by Olk, support by Maksimchuk to switch our full time employee’s health insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield to HAP, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Birchmeier to amend Capitol Outlay Local $2,400 and major $5,600, motion carried.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to give DPW Supervisor the ability to get rid of old equipment , motion carried.
Motion by Olk, support by Wolford to give the Water clerk a raise from $350 to $450 per month, discussion, last time water clerk was given a raise was in 2015 for $83, 10 years ago, roll call vote, Maksimchuk yes, Birchmeier no, Olk Yes, Gauthier no, Wolford No, Ustishen abstain, motion failed
Motion by Wolford, support by Olk to give the water clerk $75.00 per month raise, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Wolford, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
