September DDA 2025 Minutes
NEW LOTHROP DDA MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 17, 2025
Present: Pete Stewart, Kayla McCormic, Tammy Schiefer, Skip McCormic, Cindy Kinsey, Jody Greenwood, Andrew Wolford, John Ryan-Attorney Absent: Mark Birchmeier, Taylor Copes
Meeting started: 6:35 PM
Pledge of Allegiance
Pete made a motion to approve the July & August Meeting Minutes. Second by Kayla. All ayes, motion carried.
Skip made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report for August. Second by Andy. All ayes, motion carried.
Special Guests: Gerald Kozlowski – Asked if the DDA would consider increasing the Sod Grant. Mark is the chairman of the committee, and he is absent from the meeting. Discuss at next month’s meeting. Joe Vincke – Hazelton Township Supervisor, asking for funds for the Hazelton Township Fire Dept parking lot. Upcoming Street Project: asking to work together with the township to get New Lothrop Rd paved east of town to Allan Rd. Township will receive a grant for 1.5 mil per year, and the township may be able to get a better quote. Will get bid from Shiawassee County Road Commission and AMI.
Old Business: Continue watering the flowers until the end of September, then take them down.
New Business: Tammy mentioned that the certificates will be maturing on 11/15/2025, and to think about if we will be needing the money or renew. Cindy asked to get a debit card or prepaid gift card for $500 to be able to purchase items for Holly Jolly Eve. Pete made a motion to give Cindy a $500 check ahead of time for Holly Jolly eve, and Cindy will turn in receipts after. Second by Andy. Row call vote. Unanimous, motion carried.
Jody made a motion to pay the invoices. Second by Cindy. All ayes, motion carried.
Round Table: Dumpster: There will be a discussion on where the location of the dumpster will be designated. There will be a Holly Jolly Eve Meeting held at the village hall on Wednesday, 9/24/2025 at 6:15 for those that wish to help and be on the committee to make this a successful event.
