September 2026 DDA Minutes

SEPTEMBER 16, 2026
Present: Pete Stewart, Mark Birchmeier, Taylor Copes, Tammy Schiefer, Jody Greenwood,
Skip McCormic, Mike Milks, John Maksimchuk, John Ryan-Attorney
Absent: Cindy Kinsey
Meeting called to order: 6:45 PM
Pledge of Allegiance
Mark made a motion to approve the August Meeting Minutes. Second by Skip. All Ayes,
motion carried.
Pete made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report for August. Second by Mike. All Ayes,
motion carried.
Special Guests: Stan Bichmeier: Asked about some invoices.
Jay Larner – New Lothrop School Superintendent: Discussed the upcoming meeting dates
to be held at NLHS. Asked if we would like to attend one of the 2 meetings for support. Go
over Strategic Plan for Bond, Zero-Mill Bond Increase. Other items to consider are Fire
System-Security System, Gym space, Playground, Parking Lot & flow of traffic.
Old Business: Mike mentioned that the village approved the Game box for the park and
DPW will install it. Village did approve a plague to be displayed in the park to honor Dave
Schnell. Taylor had quotes for the Christmas decorations from Don Novak. Price would be
higher first year, but then ½ of the amount each after. Something to consider.
New Business: John reported that Consumers Energy was delaying the pole project and
that MDOT had become involved. The streets should be completed within the next week.
Discussed replacing the benches in the park. The black medal benches need painting.
Pete made a motion to pay the invoices. Second by Mike. Row call vote, unanimous, motion
carried.
