March 2026 Village Minutes

March 11, 2026

Present:  Maksimchuk’s, Ustishen, Gauthier, Olk, Birchmeier,

Besaw

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Pro-Tem John Maksimchuk with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Gauthier, support by Olk, to approve the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Ustishen, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Public Comments, Glenda Raleigh was present to address the council about concerns with the kids on the electric bikes,and electric scooters and not obeying the traffic signs, her concern is someone is going to get hurt, Police Chief will look into this.

Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file

Motion by Olk, support by Gauthier to allow Marissa Copes to run a 5K Fundraiser on April 26 for her Nephew, Drake Birchmeier, motion carried.

Motion by Besaw, support by Gauthier to appoint John Maksimchuk acting Mayor until elections, motion carried. Mayor has moved out of the Village.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to hire a temporary part time DPW employee to work under the water grant to check for water service line materials and cross connection inspection at $18 per hour, discussion, roll call vote, Besaw yes, Birchmeier yes, Ustishen no, Olk no, Gauthier no, Maksimchuk no, motion failed.  Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to hire a temporary grant funded DPW employee to check service line materials and cross connection  inspections, at $17.00 per hour, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to put up a doggie waste station in Confer park, roll call vote, all no’s, 1 yes Birchmeier, motion failed.

Motion by Besaw, support by Olk to purchase a NO Dog Waste sign, 1 no vote Birchmeier, rest yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
