August Village 2025 Minutes

August 13, 2025

Present:  Maksimchuk’s, Ustishen, Tate, Wolford, Besaw, Olk, Birchmeier, Gauthier

Meeting called to order by President Andy Wolford at 7:00 p..m. With the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to accept the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Ustishen, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Public Comments, Jay Larner, new Superintendent of New Lothrop Schools was present to introduce himself to Village Council.

Police, DPW, DDA and Zoning reports on file.

School Contract going to School Board for approval.

Discussed Saginaw Street address’s and New Lothrop Road address’s, Clerk and Treasurer will set up meeting with Township Treasurer and Assessor.

Street Commissioner gave update on Safe Routes Grant.  Construction will begin in the spring of 2026.

Commission reports, Northwood street sidewalk from Maple to Butternut was approved by DDA for funding this year.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Besaw to purchase a new salt spreader for $8,000.00, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Besaw, support by Olk to pay all the bills, motion carried.
