April 2026 Village Minutes
April 8, 2026
Present: Maksimchuk’s, Birchmeier, Besaw, Olk,
Absent: Ustishen, Gauthier
Meeting called to order by President John Maksimchuk with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:00 p.m. Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.
Public Comments, Eric Hobson from Hazelton Township Fire Department requested the street closing from Saginaw to Orchard on May 31st from 1-4 for the 75th anniversary of the Fire Department. Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to close Saginaw street to Orchard street on May 31st for the Fire Departments 75th anniversary, motion carried.
Denny Ruddy was present to ask about rezoning of property so he can build a total of 6 duplexes. Clerk will check with Zoning Administrator and let Denny know what next step is.
Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file.
Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to approve $2,875.00 for Sure Shot Computers to Install security cameras for our Village office building/Police Department , roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to approve the Quote for audit by VMD & Associates from Owosso for $9,750.00, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to have a public hearing at our next meeting for a Variance request at our next council meeting for the Ambulance Base property next to them, motion carried.
Motion by Birchmeier, support Olk to allow the water department to pay for water line replacements not to exceed $4,000.00, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to amend the water budget repairs and maintenance an increase of $4,000.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Besaw, support by Birchmeier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas motion carried.
