February DDA 2025 Minutes

February 20, 2025 – DDA Minutes New Lothrop

Members Present: Pete Stewart, Kayla McCormic, Taylor Copes, Cindy Kinsey, Jody Greenwood.      Absent: Tammy Schiefer, Mark Birchmeier, Andrew Wolford                                                                                   Meeting started at 6:30 PM

Pledge of Allegiance

1. The proposed budget for 2025-2026 was approved by the Village of New Lothrop. Kayla made a motion to approve the budget. Second by Jody. Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried.
2. Kayla made a motion to approve the meeting minutes for January. Second by Taylor. Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried.
3. Pete made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report for January. Second by Taylor. Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried. 
4. Special Guest & Comments: Nichole Hasseld from Rustic Meadows presented her application for the Revitalization Grant to help pay for the sign. Pete will review, confirming that she has everything complete.
5. Old Business: New signs to replace the two signs that we currently have in the east & west end of town. Newspaper did not get paid for November, Kayla is checking on it. Taylor made a motion to pay for newspaper once per year at $6,300.00 Annually. Second by Kayla, Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried. The NL DDA Meeting day change:  Cindy made a motion to change the NL DDA meeting from 3^rd Thursday to the 3^rd Wednesday of each month, starting March 19, 2025. Second by Pete. Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried. 
6. New Business: Garage Sales in New Lothrop will be May 15, 16, and 17.  New flags for the street light poles. New Lothrop School will sell enough property for a basketball court, but no shed. Kayla is getting a quote for insurance. The DDA received a nice card from Dave Schnell’s family. Skip McCormic may be interested in being on the NL DDA board. 
7. Taylor made a motion to pay Invoices. Second by Jody. Row call vote, unanimous, motion carried.
