Village June 2022 Minutes

June 8, 2022

Present:  Maksimchuk’s, Tate, Seamon, Birchmeier, Besaw, Gauthier

Absent:  Olk, Ustishen

Meeting called to order by Mayor John Maksimchuk at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Seamon, support by Birchmeier, to accept the minutes as presented, motion carried.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Gauthier to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.  Motion by Seamon, support by 

Besaw to amend the minutes to change the drainage street from Northwood to Maple Street.

DDA is proposing to re-do the Village DPW barn with new siding, roof and doors at an estimated cost of $33,000.00  Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to approve the DDA’s project to re-do the DPW barn, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.  Council member Besaw and Birchmeier will work with DDA on color scheme, etc.  Schnell’s will also spray park area an Main Street for weeds.

Police, DPW and Zoning Reports on file.

VFW  is donating new holsters for the Police Department.

Discussed possible body cams for Police Department, quote of $13,000.00, looking for possible grants.  School Contract is up for renewable, looking at a possible $4,000.00 increase split with School and DDA.  Police Chief will attend DDA meeting next week.  Motion by J. Maksimchuk, support by Birchmeier to pay Oliver’s Garage, $2,625.57 for repair of the Police car, roll call vote, all yes, motion carried.

Mayor proposed purchasing a few posts to move the speed limit signs around.

Motion by Besaw, support by Gauthier to have a special meeting with DDA and Doug Pigott for a joint meeting, June 29th at 7:00 p.m., motion carried.

Motion by Seamon, support by Gauthier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Declared meeting adjourned at 7:48 p.m.
