Village June 2015 Minutes

June 10, 2015

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Seamon, Burns, Gauthier, Olk, Beauchamp, Tate

Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Gauthier to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Seamon to accept the Treasurer’s Report, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Council Vacancy is still open.

Public Comments: Concern in regards to weeds/brush by the fence row at water treatment plant. Water Commissioner will take care of it. Discussed cleaning up brush on private property and using taxpayer’s money.

Will seek DDA funding to help pay for as the area falls within the downtown beautification area.

Motion by Olk, support by Gauthier to allow Gracie’s to close/block off Orchard Street July 24th, 25th, & 26th. The Village will be named on Insurance as additional insured, motion carried.

Mr. Perkins was present to discuss utility access and was informed this matter is a civil matter and not the Village’s. Trustees Gauthier & Olk will review resumes for part time DPW help and make recommendation to Council at July meeting.

Bids were opened on the BMW with the awarding bid going to LeRoy Stewart with; a bid of $6,300.00, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Gauthier to accept bids

for the Unimog and 1993 Ford Dump Truck. The Village will have the right to reject or accept any or all bids.

Police & DPW Report on file.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to regretfully accept Officer George Schmidt’s resignation, motion carried.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Maksimchuk to accept Jeremy Miser as a new part-time Police Officer, motion carried.

Junk Vehicle Ordinance discussed and enforcement of off road vehicles. Complaints in regards to golf carts and Council was advised by Chief of Police they have no legal right to drive on Village Streets.

Zoning & Blight issues discussed.

Tabled George Thiel Tribute until next meeting.

Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to adopt Policy 2015-2, Title VI Non-Discrimination Plan, motion carried.

Police and School contract has been signed, working on West Ditch Easement signatures.

DDA refused to pay 2nd consumer bill.

Lights around Village building will be replaced with LED lighting.

Motion by Beauchamp, support by Maksimchuk top pay all the bills, including the telephone & consumers, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Declared Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
