August Village 2024 Minutes

August 14, 2024

Present:  Maksimchuk, McCormic, Seamon, Olk, Birchmeier, Ustishen, Gauthier, Mills

Absent:  Tate

Meeting called to order by Mayor Charles McCormic at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Gauthier, support by Seamon to accept the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Ustishen, support by Olk to accept the treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to accept the amendment to DDA budget as proposed, $100,000.00 into street improvements and $34,779.00 into Downtown Beautification, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Police, DPW, DDA Reports on file.  No Zoning report for the month.

Ordinance update, Clerk has pulled all the Ordinances to be updated or repealed before they are placed on our web page.  Clerk would like to get with Village Attorney to go over and make recommendations.

Discussed quote for Crack sealing which will be done in September. 20 cents per foot, 10,000 feet and have our DPW personnel will do the work.

Safe Routes to School grant is 80% complete, Commissioner will forward the documentation to Clerk and Mayor.

Motion by Seamon, support by Olk to purchase a paint stripper not to exceed $8,000.00, discussion, roll call vote, 3 Nays, Mills, Birchmeier, Ustishen, 4 yeas, Gauthier, Olk, Seamon and McCormic, motion carried.

Motion by Olk, support by Mills to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
