Village September 2015 Minutes
September 9, 2015
Present: Maksimchuk’s, Beauchamp, Tate, Olk, Burns, Gauthier. Absent: Seamon
Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00p.m. With the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Gauthier to accept the minutes, motion carried.
Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s Report, motion carried.
Public Comments: Jerry Johnson questioned Council in regards to Leans on August Meadow vacant lots. Attorney advised negotiations are in progress and lawsuit is pending in circuit court. Mr. Johnson also questioned minutes not being posted to Village web site. We have not been given access to post minutes by new web developer or have not been trained. Clerk will contact web developer. Numerous residents from August Meadows were present to discuss development of their road which was to be completed by developer.
Police, DPW, & Zoning Reports are on file.
Clerk swore in new Council Trustee, Andy Wolford.
Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to give the Police Chief permission to look into pricing for Tasers, motion carried.
First Merit Bank will be present at next meeting to discuss direct deposit for payroll.
Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to accept the bid of $9,100 submitted by Tom Gatza for the 1993 Ford Truck, roll call vote, 1 no vote, Wolford, rest yeas, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Wolford to accept the amended Ordinance #115 in regards to Malicious Mischief, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Olk, support by Beauchamp to accept Ordinance #116 in regards to soliciting, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Consensus of Council was to not dispute the unemployment claim received for a past DPW employee. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Wolford to approve the amendment to the DDA budget to include the $12,000 for school protection, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Gauthier, support by Maksimchuk to pay all the bills including telephone & consumers, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Declared meeting adjourned at 9:20 p.m.
