Village January 2023 Minutes

January 11, 2023

Present:  Mills, Gauthier, Birchmeier, Olk, Seamon, Ustishen, McCormic   Absent:  Maksimchuk

Meeting called to order by Mayor Skip McCormic at 7:00 p.m with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Seamon, support by Olk to approve the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Seamon, support by Birchmeier to approve the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.

Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file.

Police Chief discussed concerns about camera installation at Park and who has access.  Attorney recommended Policies need to be put in place and Police Chief will be Administrator.  A security light was also suggested by the Chief to be installed at the DPW.

Wheeler Trucking has made the decision to install his own water system due to cost estimates.

Safe Routes to School grant still being discussed with DDA for possible funding.

Discussed proposal from Artesian of Pioneer for salt delivery for the water treatment plant.  Need to get pricing and will have Attorney look at contract.

Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to have our February meeting be a public hearing for Truth In Taxation and Budgets for 2023-24, motion carried.

Water Commissioner explained conversion to “pay as you go” for our Bulk water sales.  No fee from Mastercard to use.

Motion by Olk, support by Seamon to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
